Farming
God's Way Ministry
February 2015
I am very sorry for being so late on this report. As the month of January came to a close with
setting up two Farming God's Way demonstration plots, February began with
setting up a third. In January we set up a plot at Gertrudes house and then a
second one at Mjomboni. We set the third
plot up the first week of February in Jimba with Pastor Daniel. All three were great learning curves even
though we only prepared the plots for planting.
We are ready to begin the next phase of the Farming God's Way trials.
Before we plant though we must first wait on the rains, which come at the end
of March or the beginning of April. Even
though the plots don’t take but a few hours to set up we decided to stop with
only three. The reason for this is
simply because we are still in our first year and we do not want to get over
loaded with language study, culture adaptation and farming. Lindsey and I want to make sure we do
everything the best we can. With that
said, pray the Lord gives wisdom.
The next couple of weeks of February were spent as
usual learning language and studying everything along with searching the
Internet for a vehicle to purchase upon our return from the states. Also, we did a lot of work around our house
sealing up windows and doors. We
prepared our house for our trip home.
The Taylor family was coming to the states to teach at the World
Missions Seminar and our church decided it would be good for Lindsey and I to
come back and see our families. We flew out of Mombasa on the 19th
of February.
Landing in Dallas on Friday February 20th
we went straight to a friends house where we had a surprise party for Lindsey’s
parents and sister whom had no idea we were coming home. It was awesome. We spent Saturday with her family and then
attended church at Pauline Sunday where we gave an update and enjoyed our
awesome church. We thank you all so much
for bringing us home for a few weeks.
That weekend Pauline decided to make it their goal to finish off the
vehicle fund by raising 9,000 dollars before the following Sunday. Instead of 9,000 they actually raised 10,000
dollars. WOW!!!!! We could not be blessed with a better
church. It is so awesome to have so many
people who believe in the work that God is doing in Kenya, Africa. After visiting Pauline and Monticello for a
couple days we spent a few days with my mother and then a few more days with my
father. We went to Lindsey’s home church
the following Sunday with her family and gave a brief update of the work
there. We had such an awesome time
visiting our churches and families. Thank you all who play a part in this
ministry.
Prayers
Pray with us that the
people will accept these new teachings of farming in order to improve their harvest.
Also, pray that they will listen to the Bible teachings and start asking
questions. Pray for relationships to be built. Partner with us in ministering
to the people here on the coast of Kenya. Pray that the Lord will open doors
for us to start traveling north to the unreached people groups.
